Nickel Metal Hydride Battery Charger
Two Stage Voltage

E.D.S. offers a fully controlled two stage voltage charger designed to properly return capacity to a nickel metal hydride battery without fear of overcharge. This product is offered to be an affordable option for controlled NiMH battery charging where the use of a thermistor in the battery is not possible. There is no thermal monitoring or feedback involved in this chargers operation. The battery end-of-charge voltage is a fixed voltage based around a fixed volts/cell. Each charger is equipped with an LED, which indicates charge status. Note: A battery is required by E.D.S. in order to test and sample this unit.

This charger has two distinct states throughout the charge of the battery as follows:

State 1

The charger is in a high constant current state, the value of which is based on client requirements and the battery pack capacity. The red LED will be fully illuminated in this state.

State 2
Upon reaching the end-of-charge voltage, the charger goes into a constant current C/15 maintenance charge. This charge is designed to keep battery "topped off" and prevent the charger from going back into the high rate. The red LED will go out in this state.
